After that, the war with G Corporation intensified. Jin fought against Azazel in some ruins in the Middle East, and now, no longer sure where he is, the Mishima Zaibatsu is falling in the absence of his leadership. Jin's sudden disappearance has left the Mishima Zaibatsu in a state of chaos, allowing his grandfather Heihachi to reclaim the company in his absence. After his supposed sacrifice whilst defeating Azazel put him into a comatose state, his body was found by the UN and taken into their custody.
Jin awakens in a UN helicopter, wrapped in a straight jacket, and destroys the helicopter with a devil laser. Waking up in a weakened state, Jin walks aimlessly through the desert beneath the sandstorms of the Middle East.
When UN Peacekeepers track him down Jin's eyes glow red, and he unleashes a devil beam into the sky, which sends the soldiers flying. Jin soon arrives in a market while clutching his right arm.
He seems disorientated and still weakened. UN soldiers again track him down, but Lars drived an armoured car into the Souq, gund down a number of Peacekeepers and rescues Jin.
Lars carries Jin into his vehicle and drives away from their pursuers. Jin is later transported to a medical facility owned by Violet Systems to recover from his comatose state. However, Nina Williams , who has been forced to work for Heihachi, infiltrates the facility to recover Jin and take him back to the Mishima Zaibatsu.
The plan is foiled by Lee Chaolan , who flies Jin to safety and then remotely detonates the facility. Awakening from his coma after Heihachi has been killed by Kazuya, Jin approaches Lars, Lee and Alisa on a rooftop and agrees to help them take down Kazuya, who is still continuing the war despite his victory.
Jin says that he is now the only one who can stop his father due to the Devil's blood that runs through his veins, and he is prepared to destroy Kazuya and end the cursed Mishima bloodline once and for all.
Jin made a cameo appearance as a child in Tekken: The Motion Picture. Asking his mother, Jun Kazama, if she can finish reading " the story from yesterday ", Jun answers, " Alright " and they soon walk home. Jin returns from Tekken 3 as a playable character in Tekken Tag Tournament. He retains his move-set, but if Heihachi is selected as his partner, he will have access to a new Omen stance. Although Tekken Tag Tournament is non-canonical, it is still looked at as a refined version of Tekken 3.
Jin is about to finish him with a single punch, only to have paused and dropped Kazuya's body back on the ground. He is then seen with his hands shaking as he falls down to his knees. Jin appears as a playable character in the crossover game, Street Fighter X Tekken. His official tag partner is Ling Xiaoyu. Jin is referred to as "Pitch Black Wings" in his character description. This game is not canonical to the Tekken series. In his prologue, Jin hears the word of the Pandora crashing into the Antarctic and hears of its dark presence affecting people negatively across the globe.
Sensing a power that may retain the Devil Gene, he decides to find the box. Xiaoyu tries to reason Jin from going, as it may be too dangerous; Jin, however, is determined to go.
Xiaoyu then decides to accompany him and protect him in case something bad happens. Determined, he sets out in order to better understand his Devil powers.
For the Street Fighter characters in the arcade mode, Jin and Xiaoyu who have succumbed to the influence of Pandora appear as sub-boss rivals before fighting Ogre. Chun-Li threatens to arrest Jin, but he seems uninterested and tells her he doesn't care about the warrants, and arresting him won't be easy. Xiaoyu however, gets angry because she thinks they were trying to seduce Jin.
He then challenges them to a fight to continue to search for the box. Jin walks on ahead, with Xiaoyu watching him. When he gets closer to the box, he gets thrown into pain from the box's influence. Xiaoyu runs to help Jin, but he tells her to stay back. Pandora opens and seals its effect away from Jin. Afterwards, he falls unconscious. After a while, he opens his eyes and sees Xiaoyu looking at him in a worrying way. He wakes up on Xiaoyu's lap. He gets up and sees that his devil tattoo is still on his arm.
He tells Xiaoyu that he won't give up and he will find a way to get rid of this curse. The download blurb states that after defeating her, Jin took interest in Viper's gadget-laden suit and requisitioned one for himself. Jin appears in the Tekken: Blood Vengeance movie as one of the main characters. He sends Nina Williams, his bodyguard, to Russia, to activate an android named Alisa Bosconovitch and use her as a spy to gather information about Shin, who's now a student at an international school in Kyoto, Japan.
Later, Ling Xiaoyu and Alisa are able to find Shin at Kyoto Castle, where he reveals that the cause of his immortality is because of the Mutare Experiment. Jin then arrives at the castle, where he reunites with Shin, whom he was good friends with back at the Mishima Polytechnical School.
After a brief conversation with his old friend, Kazuya arrives. Then, a surprisingly alive Heihachi Mishima, who survived an explosion by G-Corporation's Jacks sent to kill him and Kazuya, reveals himself and tells everyone that the experiments were engineered by him.
Shin then uses the cell's power to try and kill Heihachi, but Heihachi attempts to kill Shin by putting him in a deadly shoulder lock, spilling most of the teenager's blood and the M-Cell's power. Xiaoyu, Alisa, and a furious Jin demand Heihachi to stop, but Heihachi heartlessly kills Shin, ridding him of the Mutare Experiment's power. After Shin dies in the arms of Xiaoyu and Alisa, Jin, angered at the process of his friend dying, decides to battle Heihachi, and his father, Kazuya, and end the Mishima Bloodline once and for all.
Xiaoyu attempts to stop the fighting, but it's no use. Jin, Kazuya, and Heihachi engage in an epic three-way brawl, all the way down to the bottom of Kyoto Castle. After Heihachi defeats Kazuya, Jin defeats and seemingly kills his grandfather by punching him through a brick wall and sending him falling to his apparent death, avenging Shin.
Afterwards, Kazuya regains conscious and confronts Jin. He then transforms into his devil form and physically strikes Jin possibly with telekinesis , sending him through the wall and taking the battle outside. Jin attempts to defeat him without the usage of his Devil powers, but Jin was no match for his demonic father, and Devil Kazuya cruelly urges him to transform into Devil Jin. Alisa then attempts to defeat Devil Kazuya instead, but is shut down by Jin.
Annoyed that Jin has been using a "doll" to do his work, Devil Kazuya crushes Alisa in half with one single stomp, throwing Xiaoyu into despair. Afterwards, Jin finally transforms into Devil Jin, in order to put an end to the Mishima Bloodline, though his form is completely unstable and out of control; Devil Kazuya then easily defeats his son.
However, as he believes he's victorious, Jin finally takes control of his new form, surprising Devil Kazuya and revealing that he never needed the M-Cell. His Devil powers now utilized, Jin successfully defeats his father, sending him plummeting into a nearby waterfall and declaring that the Devil's power is now his.
Afterwards, Jin finds Xiaoyu weeping uncontrollably next to Alisa's destroyed body. After the two friends have a brief conversation about their friendship, Heihachi is revealed to still be alive.
Underneath the ruins of the castle, he destroys the coffin harboring the spirits of the Mokujin , which was the material that the castle was made of. This causes Heihachi to then transform into a giant monster , in order for him to annihilate his grandson. Though the Mokujin tries to stop him, he ignores them and attempts to use their power to kill Jin. However, Alisa reactivates herself, and sacrifices herself to strike Heihachi's weak point; because of this, Jin finally defeats his grandfather and sends the monster tumbling to the ground.
Heihachi's fate, along with Kazuya's, is unknown. With the battle finally over, Jin puts Alisa back online, much to Xiaoyu's joy. He then tells Xiaoyu that in time, she will come to defeat him and he'll be waiting. Jin then flies back to the Mishima Zaibatsu.

Jin Kazama appears as a main character in the novel written by Takashi Yano. The central plot revolves around him. Set between Tekken 6 and Tekken 7. Jin appears as a playable character in Tekken Card Tournament.
His cards focus on an all-around albeit slightly weak assortment. However, some cards allow him to "mutate" into Devil Jin, buffing his effects tremendously. He has average draw, strength, and abilities, making him pretty well rounded, but most of his cards are either limited, or unique, and he has a small card collection. He also has some card abilities from Heihachi, and Kazuya, which further make him a tough opponent to bring down.
When he mutates to Devil Jin, he stays in that form until the card activation causes another mutation. He has cards that can help make mutation easier to do, but these usually have drawbacks on them in order to prevent rapid mutation on a whim.
He can also heal himself, but only if he strikes the opponent. He requires skill to use, so beginners aren't recommended to use him until after a bit of training. Jin was announced to be added to this game in an upcoming update. His trailer was released in December 8, Later on, Jin appears as an unlockable character released in Tekken Mobile's Christmas update Version 0.
Jin's gameplay differed from Kazuya's, as while he shared much of the moveset he was focused both on offense and punishment with good punisher moves and pressure tools, like Devil Jin , making him a deadly force if used correctly. This gameplay style updated is used now by Devil Jin.
Jin's new gameplay, changed in T4, while changing the fighting style, is comparable to the Mishima's, being able to perform a crouch dash like them. Jin doesn't have their powerful single moves, so he'll have to use different tools. What lacks in sheer damage, he makes up in a better poking game, evasive maneuvers, sneaky stance transitions, and an outstanding counter ability.
League of Legends. Dragon Ball. Team Fortress. Street Fighter. Most of the characters have a different age depending on the game version considered. I have shared their ages based on the temporal period of Tekken 7, which takes place shortly after the events of Tekken 6. Jin's gameplay was radically changed in Tekken 4 , though later installments would introduce his "Devil Jin" form that plays like his pre- Tekken 4 self.
Jin is a versatile character who can do pretty much anything. He's excellent on both offense and defense, but isn't amazing at either. He has strong pokes and several great strings, while also having the deadliest parry in the game and a strong suite of counter hit tools, but he has pretty mediocre okizeme and has difficulties with being outranged. Ultimately, Jin is a character that you can fully express yourself with, and even with his shortcomings he has few glaring weaknesses.
Introduced as a playable character in 5 , Devil Jin uses Jin's original Mishima style with added abilities from his devil powers. Community Showcase More. Follow TV Tropes. When Jun was attacked and seemingly killed by Ogre, Jin swore revenge and as instructed, studies Mishima Karate through his grandpa Heihachi and also enrolls in school This awakens his Devil Gene, transforming him into Devil Jin, after which he thrashes Heihachi before fleeing.
Driven by utter spite for his family, he unlearns the Mishima Karate and learns traditional Karate, then enters the 4th King of Iron Fist Tournament, also hearing that his father Kazuya that he equally hates for his Devil Gene that he inherited from Kazuya is Back from the Dead. But, he ends up captured and awakened in a temple, where he proceeds to beat the crap out of Heihachi and Kazuya, only sparing them due to his mother's spirit's interference.
After his retreat, Jin starts getting overwhelmed by his Devil Gene, which leads to him deciding that he has to put an end to his own bloodline. He enters the 5th tournament, but is unable to concentrate and got his ass kicked by his rival Hwoarang, which causes his Superpowered Evil Side to take over him and curb-stomp Hwoarang back. Then he goes to beat Jinpachi, claiming the ownership of the Zaibatsu and uses it to Take Over the World.
In a stunning move, Jin handles the Zaibatsu in an even worse way than his father did, using the Tekken Force as his own private army and using it to wage war against the entire world. His actions put the entire world into a state of chaos, and damage the lives of many people, such as Miguel. When he learns that once again his father and grandpa are against that, he announces the 6th tournament. In Scenario Campaign , he is finally confronted by Lars, the leader of the splinter resistance group within the Tekken Force.
After defeating Lars, Jin reveals that Alisa was created to serve as a weapon for him, and activates her true programming. After Alisa is put out of commission due to sustaining critical damage from protecting Jin from Lars, the two clash one last time, and Jin is defeated. He reveals to Lars the true purpose for his actions - to summon Azazel and destroy him, believing that he is the "source" of the Devil Gene. Once Azazel appears again, Jin summons forth all of his power and destroys Azazel, sacrificing himself in the process.
The ending of Scenario Campaign reveals that Jin is indeed alive, but unfortunately is still cursed with the Devil Gene. As revealed in 7 , it is not Azazel, but Kazumi Mishima who is the true source of the Gene. Jin returns for the 7th tournament, his motives unknown. Tropes associated with Jin. Anime Hair : Basically, Kazuya with bangs. In Dark Resurrection, one of his custom items is a new hairstyle that looks identical to Super Saiyan Goku's hair.
And it glows blue! His hair also bears a resemblance to Sasuke Uchiha's. Antagonistic Offspring : To say that he detests his evil father, Kazuya Mishima, would be putting it mildly. Anti-Hero : The Unscrupulous variant. Anti-Villain : A Woobie one. Apologetic Attacker : In 4 and 5 , as long as you're not on his hitlist i. Kazuya and Heihachi , he'll ask you to forgive him for beating you into a bloody pulp. He never finds out that the Devil Gene came from his long dead grandmother Kazumi, meaning that he started the war for no reason and now a lot of people want him dead, which might have been part of his motive anyway since he pretty much feels that having the Devil Gene makes him too dangerous to live.
The Atoner : He's set to kill Kazuya during the epilogue of 7 , to put an end to the very war that he himself started. Arc Symbol : His introduction in 3 has him wearing Kazuya's trademark gloves. After going his own way, his personal trademark is now his Power Tattoo , as well as the three-armed spiral on his own gloves. Notably, in his Devil form, as well as his human form from 6 onward, he's wearing Kazuya's gloves again. As of 7 , he and his Devil form are the only ones wearing these gloves, as Kazuya doesn't wear them anymore at least in his default outfit.
Awesome, but Impractical : Starting in 4 , Jin was given an additional stance named Omen. Up until 5 , this merely buffed a couple of his moves, as well as gave him some extended combo strings, similar to Bryan's Taunt move.
Starting in 6 , however, this actually allowed him to access his old Tekken 3 movelist for a few moves, primarily those similar to Kazuya or Devil Jin. There's also a visual indicator of him assuming this stance, as his fighting pose will resemble that of Heihachi.
And in Tag 2 , Jin's special combo with Devil Jin starts from him in this stance. The impractical part of this is that it takes some precise inputs to even assume the stance to begin with, which is why no serious Jin player actually makes use of this, making this more of an Easter Egg than anything else.
This may be why he no longer has this in 7. Back from the Dead : His canonical ending in 3 , thanks to the Devil Gene. Badass Biker : Several cutscenes feature him riding around on a motorcycle. Badass Crew : Which includes Eddy and Nina. Badass Family : Although the entirety of Jin's bloodline is all messed up, you gotta admit that they are still pretty awesome. His mom fought off Ogre to keep him safe, let that sink in. Badass Longcoat : Wears one in his fifth game epilogue, and gains it as his second costume in Tekken 6.
Berserk Button : His own father and grandfather piss him off due to their immoral and twisted actions that causes Jin to really hate them. To a lesser extent, he will also transform unconsciously if his life or at least his physical integrity are threatened. Heihachi's attempt on his life at the end of the third tournament, Hwoarang defeating his human form during the fifth tournament and UN soldier forces capturing him in between the sixth and seventh tournaments, are all events known to have triggered his transformation into Devil form.
Out of these, only Heihachi managed to survive unscratched, with Hwoarang taking a severe beating that gave him weeks in the hospital and the UN helicopter carrying him blown up in flight presumably with its pilots still inside by Devil Jin's laser beams.
Big, Screwed-Up Family : The fourth generation of a family that just doesn't quite see eye-to-eye Black Sheep : Of the Kazama family because he caused a war that kill millions.
Blessed with Suck : A "child of destiny"? A more accurate descriptor would be a "child of suck". He seems to have inherited no spiritual powers from Jun, instead being plagued with the cursed blood of the Mishimas.
At the very least, Jun's influence tempers his demonic tendencies to a certain degree. Bonus Boss : Can replace Heihachi as the mid-boss of 7 but not Fated Retribution if certain conditions are met. It is possible to meet a more powerful version of Jin in the Treasure Battle as well.
He's just understandably pissed that his sister was killed in one of their bombings with this kind of attitude. Calling the Old Man Out : Calls out both father and grandpa. Catchphrase : Since he debuted in Tekken 5 , Devil Jin has only said one phrase: " Kyoufu wo oshiete yarou " translation found further down; see " Power Echoes ".
Human Jin started saying it during one of his pre-fight intros in Tekken 6 as well pointing out that he's no longer as goody-goody as he used to be. Celibate Hero : Whereas Jin does show affection for Xiaoyu addressing her by the pet name of "Xiao" and presumably warning her of Heihachi before 4 and is hopefully aware of her affections, he can't return them simply because he refuses to let his lineage screw with the lives of anyone else.
In fact, Harada has apparently gone on record saying that Jin will never pair up with anyone, further cementing this trope. Not that this is likely to still the efforts of the Xiaoyin and Hwoajin crowds. Characterization Marches On : In 3 , Jin was pretty cocky and confident, and while he mourned the loss of his mother, he was pretty content living with his grandfather.
However, starting with his ending in 3 , he slowly became much more brooding, distrustful and reserved.
